Welcome to Consumerium.org R&D Wiki
Consumerium is a not-for-profit project, developed under GFDL license, to develop free software and infrastructure for storage, transport and display of varying levels of product information to consumers via short-range wireless to the shelf front and feedback to the producers to enhance the consumer experience, advance product development and to keep this planet as hospitable as possible for human and other natural life.
An easy way to understand the vision is that you should be able to run a barcode on any product by an in-store or carried-on-the-person scanner, and see at least an indicator of whether it does or does not satisfy your personal moral criteria for buying: probably indicated by a simple green (buy), red (don't) or yellow (review the detailed information) light.
