    Any economic choice depends primarily but not entirely on price - what must be given up in economic terms to make the purchase. A price premium is a sort of score in that indicates a higher willingness to give up other things to achieve better comprehensive outcomes for that one item.

    However, a more general consideration of price and its role in moral purchasing is required. Without extra information from Consumerium Services, moral purchasing potential is low since price is all that is known.

    If items are compared only on a price basis they are called "commodity".

    If they have brand name identification and unique identity then they are usually considered to have reached product status - the goal of brand management is to differentiate one company's products from another.

    A true service economy however considers the whole product lifecycle and so nothing can actually be considered separate from the extraction of natural capital and waste afterwards - these are services that nature or the state or others do for us. An honest consideration of price includes all these services.

    Economics also puts a price on human life and on Earth itself, implicitly, by refusing to prevent overall biodiversity or carrying capacity or lives from being reduced.
