UCC is an acronym for Uniform Code Council Inc. (non-profit)

UCC manages UPC codes and has recently been appointed by the UN to manage the UNSPSC

UCC has announced that by January 1, 2005 all retail scanning systems in the US must be able to accept EAN-13
