Functional packaging
Functional packaging is a feature of a product or the packaging itself.
Packaging in general serves many functional purposes, such as
- protecting the product from contact with air and other substances where ever applicable
- protecting the product from hazards of transportation
- product identification
- product description
Wholesale packaging and Consumer packaging are distinct.
If a packaging layer has no other meaningful functions besides having attractive appearance it is called Decorative packaging.
