Ideology is a set of beliefs that is very consistent from the point of view of those who believe. It is instructional capital but rather than telling you what to do, it tells you what to ignore and deny. Then, what to do tends to be quite limited, and you don't feel you are being manipulated by the ideologists. Various ways ideology affects Consumerium Services:
- institutional buying criteria may be set according to some explicit ideology, e.g. organized labour may pursue a "workers first" ideology or put slavery elimination above ecology causes
- political activists may come to push their various viewpoints
Faction activity is intended to reflect ideologies and help people to work closely with others who share their ideology before they foist their joint view on everyone else. This will often reduce conflict and prevent forms of troll-formative injustice.
