- Made, verified and distributed backups. Migrated the wikis to a new Debian 10 server with stricter security and much faster system. Some things still need to be tuned and tested before the migration can be called complete. (tomorrow). Jukeboksi (talk) 22:31, 24 November 2019 (CET)

New try at the upgrading. I thought that the test wiki's inconsistent state could be due to that the shared tables need to be disabled during the upgrade or there will be trouble. So I made a copy of the shared tables and uploaded them into the test wiki before running the upgrade and the test wiki got up just fine. Now that I have tested that mw:Extension:Wikibase works in the test wiki and editing and uploading work on both wikis I'm happy to say that the wiki family is happily at the newest Mediawiki version 1.33

In the morning wrote this ticket to the Wikimedia Phabricator ticketing system titled 'Unable to upgrade wiki family of 2 wikis from 1.32.0 to 1.33.0 due to DB structure being different than the upgrade.php expects' and then various people helped and expert w:User:Anomie provided SQL to fix the issue of the ticket. Big thanks to Anomie for single-handedly putting the database of the test wiki into a consistent and upgradeable state.
Not all was well yet. Running the upgrades on the 2 wikis of the wiki family this development wiki was fine, but the test wiki ended up in an inconsistent state e.g. Main Page missing, revisions missing.

- Made backups and attempted the upgrade again. Did not work. Got help from #mediawiki. Making a Phabricator ticket was suggested by duesen @ #mediawiki. Thank you mw:User:Duesentrieb for all the help.

- Problem with the upgrade. There are two wikis in this wiki family and the test wiki won't run the upgrade. Rolled back both upgrades and going to think about how to sort the situation. Jukeboksi (talk) 21:41, 25 September 2019 (UTC)

- https://www.luke.fi/tutkittua-tietoa-ruuan-ymparistovaikutuksista/ w:fi:Luonnonvarakeskus w:fr:Centre des ressources naturelles de Finlande provides the research for the carbon footprint calculations that the S-group and the K-group, who split over 80% of food retail between them, are rolling out in the latter part of 2019. Jukeboksi (talk) 11:00, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
- https://yuka.io/en/ is an app by YUKA SAS, a company funded by the premium payments of the premium tier of the freemium. Premium-tier includes nutritional calculations, which are at the core of OFF. Includes consumer reviews, otherwise quite like OFF. Jukeboksi (talk) 10:08, 28 August 2019 (UTC)

- Scouting the Open Food Facts wiki I ran into this one: Resource centre for greenhouse gas accounting and their (?) Extrait de la Base Carbone, which seems to be a database for figuring out carbon emissions, including extraction and processing of the fuel before it is used. Jukeboksi (talk) 17:58, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- Today I've been translating the Open Food Facts website at https://translate.openfoodfacts.org/ into Finnish. Last few days I have been experimenting with the app and the website and it seems to work quite well, though not everything is yet resolved. Jukeboksi (talk) 17:36, 22 August 2019 (UTC)

Saw a small piece on Open Food Facts on France24 a couple of days ago and started an article on it. It is a copyleft effort for "foods and beverages only"-policy and focus on health stuff. I have installed the Android app and it looks like a fun way to contribute as everything is under a copyleft license. Jukeboksi (talk) 13:06, 17 August 2019 (UTC)

- Bought a new VPS from Hetzner Online AG into their Helsinki DC. The advantages of the new server are that there is substantially more RAM and the disk is also bigger and it is blazing fast NVMe and not HDD, like at the old hosting guys. Will migrate all Consumerium wikis and sites soon-ish. Jukeboksi (talk) 21:13, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

- Consumium free social media instances are now migrated from the old virtual server in Netherlands to a new virtual server in Germany. Cost of running them went substantially down and resources went up. The only negative thing about the new server is that the hosting company does not use renewable electricity, but the fact that the data center has ground water cooling mitigates this a bit as it saves a lot of electricity. - If someone else is wondering about a few edits happening which show a difference of few bytes negative in the Recent Changes, but when you click the diff it says that there is no difference: I was naturally worried when I saw the first occurrence of this and asked around in #mediawiki and the explanation is that around Mediawiki version 1.10 the line termination characters were reformed and thus these weird edits can happen when someone edits an article in a way that replaces the old line termination character with the new, shorter, ones and then Recent Changes sees a difference in the size, but the diff does not look at how the lines are terminated and concludes that nothing has been changed. - I'm soon going to set up ssh agent forwarding as explained very clearly here. This allows for fully automated backupping procedures that can be run regularly by a cronjob on my local machine if I also set up keychain while avoiding the perils of having non-passphrase-protected keys on any servers. Jukeboksi (talk) 20:16, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
- Added a favicon.ico for https://consumerium.org and https://kuluttajisto.consumerium.org and made, verified and distributed backups. Jukeboksi (talk) 17:03, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

- Upgraded this wiki and the Test wiki (the only 2 members of a wiki family) to the latest stable Mediawiki (Release notes for 1.32). There was some trouble when upgrading the test wiki with 'php update.php --wiki=testwiki' exited with an error stating that the updater tried to update the wrong database (!), but after banging my head at the keyboard for a while I figured out this may be due to the test wiki sharing some tables from this development wiki and that indeed was the case. After I commented out the shared tables in LocalSettings.php the upgrade run just fine. Jukeboksi (talk) 21:21, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
- Upgraded my semi-private study wiki to latest stable Mediawiki (1.32.0) and now proceeding to do the same for this development wiki. Downtime of maximum of few minutes expected. Jukeboksi (talk) 18:53, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
- Extensions of Wordpressen at https://consumerium.org and https://kuluttajisto.consumerium.org updated. Jukeboksi (talk) 13:05, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
- Apologies for the fact that the email sending system
is broken. Probably due to that it uses encrypted connection to the SMTP-server with authentication and I (probably) changed the password and forgot to update it in LocalSettings.php. I will work to fix this issue today. Jukeboksi (talk) 12:44, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
