A trademark is a monopoly on some brand or product name. It is protected under different laws that have lately become very similar due to globalization. Claims that activists are diluting the trademark are a common form of intimidation and harassment. See also libel chill here.
Consumerium Governance Organization has to make some important decisions about how to deal with this type of monopoly and problems and opportunities that it creates for the Consumerium License.
One use is to require a test suite for any product using the trademark. This requirement is in most consortium licenses.
