And as we're on the flaming tip now. I might say that your thesis that "The interests of Workers and Capitalists are perfectly opposed" doesn't really ring true. It's more like that the interests of Capitalists and the Wellfare State are perfectly opposed. The capitalist wants to shut taxation down to maximise profits and the State would like to collect more taxes to produce more services for the well being of it's citizens.
