    The question of blame or liability obviously involves identifying people "as a group" politically. Can one think of a political party or ideology as being "to blame" when something destructive happens as a result of some policy? Most boycott used to be of whole nations, and might still be.

    "Macro-economics of consumerium" we might call this.
