Developer vigilantiism
(Redirected from Developer override)
Developer vigilantiism is the more serious form of sysop vigilantiism arising when someone with developer access "accidentally (or maliciously) abuse the developer powers (ie, installing a stealth block against someone they didn't like, altering edit histories without an audit trace, etc). [Here I use "developer" to refer to people actually maintaining the software and server.]" -- Brion VIBBER 04:17, 27 Mar 2004
This form of technological escalation has been a serious problem at Wikipedia (due mostly to Tim Starling) and Consumerpedia (due to DanKeshet). Accordingly, neither of these people should be allowed to play any role whatsoever in the Consumerium Governance Organization.
