    Burma, renamed Myanmar by its military dictatorship, is the one country most cited by political scientists as one where violent resistance to the government counts as legitimate rebellion, as that government has proven over and over again that it is willing to engage in horrific acts of genocide, including forcible impregnation of women, and deliberately spreading HIV, to eliminate the indigenous population (see reference en: Recyclopedia: legitimate rebellion).
