Toolbar

A web browser toolbar contains additional functions that extend the standard menus, e.g. File menu, Edit menu, View menu, that are part of every Windows application including Internet Explorer. Some search engines or web mail services distribute toolbars, e.g. Yahoo toolbar, MySearch toolbar, Google toolbar. Also there are menu extenders like UCmore which do affinity search in the background.

The crit.org annotation service also relies on toolbar-like functions.

The toolbar would be an ideal way for Consumerium Services to appear as web services since they attach to every page, including those of brand names and companies who don't want the Consumerium buying signal attached.
