Sourcing or Purchasing is a function or department in most companies. It usually focuses only on getting lower prices.

However, if incredibly bad results will happen from buying the cheapest product, then, it will be possible to get sourcing or purchasing people to do at least enough moral purchasing to keep their jobs.

Since sourcing affects pricing, it must be the marketing department that decides that it is acceptable to use more expensive but also more moral inputs.

Manufacturing constraints may make it hard to use any product other than one traditionally used.
