Open patent

An open patent is a patent in an open source-like patent pool that lets anyone use the patented invention. It's not exactly clear who or what owns the improvements that are sometimes made when inventions are integrated into larger systems.

Whether or not to use these or any patent pool is up to the Consumerium Governance Organization.
