Don't confuse user stories and use cases with promotional materials. Though one uses the best cases as testimonials in one's promotions, it is very dangerous and stupid to rely only on those for design purposes. Projects that are not interested in their own limitations and failure cases, will fail - why worst cases are actually more important than best cases and why it is important to explore both. And (to a lesser degree) threats and visions.
