The idea that '''sysops are trolls''' is part of the [[New Troll point of view]] but is also shared by many others.  The difference hinges on how one defines [[vandal]], [[sysop]] and [[trolls]]:

If sysops are trolls using [[technological escalation]] and [[group vandalism]] to make up for lacks in their [[trolling]] skills, then, countermeasures must be taken to prevent this group from dominating discourse and imposing a [[Sysop Vandal point of view]].
