:No, they are clearly not. Though there are global pricing guidelines, they tend to apply very differently to different origins of diamonds. The whole issue of [[conflict diamond]]s has also made diamonds clearly NOT commodity, since people now clearly do care if they came from [[Gus Keuwenhoven]] or not. |

Are diamonds a commodity? From what I understand each diamond is unique and thus I cant believe that Commodity markets exist for them
- No, they are clearly not. Though there are global pricing guidelines, they tend to apply very differently to different origins of diamonds. The whole issue of conflict diamonds has also made diamonds clearly NOT commodity, since people now clearly do care if they came from Gus Keuwenhoven or not.
