An insider culture is a power structure that outsiders cannot penetrate, and where prior reputation with a small clique of insiders is critical to maintaining position. The best example among large public wikis is probably Disinfopedia, though Wikimedia is a close second, and more reprehensible for its bizarre claims to openness and transparency, which are a joke.
