Extraction of resources means converting natural capital to natural resources or waste, either deliberately or incidentally as some other resource (like oil, gas, coal or gold) is extracted. Much damage is done at extraction points - most extremely, the e-waste done at extraction points is extreme, since rare earth metals are involved in making chips and these require a great deal of damage to be done at the extraction point to make a single chip. See Consumerium:intermediate page for the way extraction methods specific to an industry are represented.
