&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;Some suggest that a &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;police state&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is the inevitable result of adding a [[permission-based model]] to a [[large public wiki]].  There is some evidence that they are right, given what happened to [[Wikipedia]], especially its [[sysop vigilantiism]].  What is the upside of such models?  Is there another way?
