New page

Monetary reform (making money reflect some means of measuring well-being or at least a sane styles of capital analysis) is probably the ultimate moral purchasing and political consumerism problem. It is the ultimate accounting reform. Some would tie it to bioregional democracy so that each ecoregion has its own community currency and controls can be put at the borders.

We are not all that interested in it here except as a means of understanding money and how to make a healthy signal infrastructure self-funding. Under a certain enlightened monetary regime, it might be funded as critical infrastructure the same way that roads, bridges, reservoirs and armies are.

Monetary reform is some of the difference between best cases we can achieve now and visions that would depend on it, and other things that we don't have - yet.

See w:monetary reform for a somewhat less visionary, more nuts and bolts, discussion.
