New page

Green Parties try to use ecology as a replacement for ideology. That is, instead of using human social beliefs to decide what is important and what can be safely ignored, they try to rely on scientific method in the science of ecology instead. This is problematic since ultimately science is a culture too, and nothing is completely objective. Green Parties worldwide have a w:Global Greens Charter that emphasizes the following important values:
*ecological wisdom (more specifically w:ecological health)
*peace (or on smaller scale w:harms reduction)
*social justice
*w:participatory democracy
*respect for diversity
*sustainability

Many of these values will be reflect in buying criteria, and they provide a reasonable list of concerns that other factions will probably share to some degree.
