Sourceforge offers many good things, like CVS, WebCVS, Colour Coded Visual Diff, Compile farm, Community support, like forum for recruiting new developers...
Consumerium and Sourceforge
We should register the project with Sourceforge but there are a few details that must be decided upon before we can do that:
- Licenses - we can't use GPL for executables, because then we couldn't control that the clients are not using altered software that offends the agreed upon rights of some party (eg. modified Consumer Agents harvesting and transferring price data to some other service). Discussion on this should take place in Talk:Licenses.
- The XML/DTDs are already under GPL but since I'm the only contributor to that section I can easily place them under some other licenses too
